How accurate are these short single shot guns. Do you think you could get 1 1/2 grouping at 200 yards with these short guns? I want one in .243

I like the H&R rifles. Sub MOA isn't likely. Maybe with a hand load.

I tried to talk myself into getting a CVA or H&R 243 for my daughter, but with the Ruger Americans being so cheap that is the route I am going to go for her.

My NEF Handi rifle in .223 and .243 will do tight groups with hand loads. Never tried factory ammo in them.

My H&R single shot in .243. shoots well. Winchester Power Points 100gr. do alot better than the Remington corelocs. 2" group at 100 yards.

If you think you might some day hunt a Muzzle Loader state...then I would get the encore or cva so you can change out barrels

we tried several cva,s hand loads, trigger job, a few tricks on the forearm, 3 diferent ones, one day it would shoot pretty good very next day 8 inches high and would steadily climb down as you kept shooting it. i cant recommend them. h&r shoot descent with some being very good. i dont know why but break barrels seem to have this stringing problem. me, id get a bolt gun, savage axis can be had for 257.00 at wal mart and a ruger american which is a litlle better for 359.00 at wal mart also.
