I have two traps going, mostly corn used and have trapped day after day. After Thanksgiving and frying 3 turkeys I dug a hole under my trap, poured all the peanut oil in the whole and covered it up. You can still smell the peanut oil and so far 31 hogs have been trapped out of the one trap. Last weekend 5 on Friday, 4 on Saturday. All hogs were shot in the trap with the exception of one boar that I cut, ear tagged and turned out, I have trapped him two more times and have him on two different game cams.

Also, a Cajun buddy told me he had trapped hogs and had them stop entering trap, so he put a small mirror on the outside of the trap...seems it was his belief that if other hogs saw the reflection they would enter. He said it worked. I just have not had that problem yet. I have hammered this one herd of hogs so far, more to go
I forgot to mention when I do not have the trap set, I have had it moved by hogs 6 to 8 feet rooting around to get to the peanut oil.

I have had the same happen with old butter milk. The mirror theory is interesting, would have never thought about that. Would be interesting to try Now were are the secrets about getting the old smart boars to not stop at the trip wire
