Headed back to my place in Comanche this weekend. Curious if anyone knew how the hunting has been. Haven't been able to make it back since thanksgiving.

I'm in the southwest part of the county off FM573, and our season has been terrible! Last year we had bucks, does, and fawns all over - the best I've seen this year were 4 does together with no fawns! I did take a gnarly spike Thanksgiving weekend. Still have pigs and yotes that need a bullet!

I'm in the NE part of the county. We had a great opening weekend but after that was slow. Only two of us on are lease and we havent been able to go much. Hoping to put some meat in the freezer this weekend.

Are you around Proctor Lake or De Leon? Haven't heard much out of that area lately.

I talked to Ronnie Cox, Cox's Processing on HWY 67 east of town right after Christmas, he said the entire region has been very slow. He named off several area processors who have said the same thing.

The spike I brought in Thanksgiving, and the tag number for Cox's was only #210! Normally it would have been twice that!

Maybe this rain will generate some spring seeds and forbs. Ranchers around us have just plowed, some amybe they can plant in a few weeks and bring some grain crops back in our area!

We're in the southeast part near Carlton. Awful hunting. We've seen two deer during daylight all season.

This has been the slowest season since I started hunting Comanche County in 2004. I saw one decent buck opening weekend and a few young bucks during the season but not a single doe during shooting hours. I always see does. The cameras show that there are deer still moving all night long but they haven't been moving during shooting hours since October.

Yeah...I've been on this place for 5 years now, and this year was very strange. Never seen this happen on any lease that I've been on. I was getting a lot of night activity too, several nice bucks, until about early October, then everything just stopped - even pigs! Then it picked back up in late December with does and pigs!

Our rancher says he's seeing bucks during the week fairly regular. Very strange activity this year.

We didn't see much around Newburg. Shot 2 does, 2 spikes, and 1 buck between 6 of us and a few guests. Guess I'm glad in a way that we weren't the only ones.
