44 people have looked two have commented that is sad. I will be there! I have a suburban and will carry as many people as I can if you want to go. I will be leaving burleson at 7:00 am.

I may be the only one there but I will be there. If theydo pass some stupid law I want to be able to say I at least got of of my lazy but and tried to do something!

Just to let you guys know I am not a gun freak. I am just a regular old joe who likes to hunt and fish, and know that I have the right to protect myself. I have four boys and a step daughter and I want them to learn to stand up for their rights also. Unfortunately they will probably have to deal with issues like this when they get older.

If you would like to go give me a call 817-823-9791.

If they go after ar's and semi autos and succeed they will come after the rest next. For all of you that say this cant happen take a look at the world . If enough people don't stand up they can and they will.

Keep em huntin and they wont have time to get in trouble!! And remember RESPECT goes a long way!!

I don't mind going but do you think there's any question where Texas stands on the issue?

I don't think there is any issue at all with Texas but the worst thing you could do is think every thing is good in your state and not do anything. There are other states. And just maybe showing the rest of the states how pationate Texas is about protecting our rights will convince others to do the same.
The worst you could do is nothing.

Very well said but I will add...
It's not about Texas but our rights as FREE AMERICANS that is in grave danger. Even if you think "it won't happen here" I challenge you all to stand UNITED with all gun owners and support gun owners/rights with us.

The gun grabbers must believe us when we say DON'T TREAD ON ME and COME AND TAKE IT

LOCK N LOAD
I'll just say that the line has been drawn. I will do all I can to keep my kids in a Free America. If they win now it will be a very steep slope to follow and we will not be able, or should I say much less able to defend against tyranny.

I should be back in from an out of town work trip. If so I'll make the drive up from Rockport. Definitely a chance for the law abiding gun owners to make a stance.

Has anyone secured a permit for the gathering etc? Don't you have to have a permit to pretest or have a demonstration?

I'm glad to see some folks are planning to attend. If you can't attend, please help spread the word. We need to make sure everyone sees this in time to plan to make the trip.

Texas: Urge Travis County Commissioners to Oppose Ban on Gun Shows in Taxpayer-Owned Facilities

While anti-Second Amendment politicians in Washington plot their national gun control agenda, local officials are taking direct aim at gun shows in the Austin area.
Travis County Commissioners, at the urging of their counterparts on the Austin City Council, are considering a proposal to ban gun shows on county-owned property and in public facilities. Austin may even go further and attempt to restrict them on private property within city limits.
This measure would primarily affect events held at the Travis County Expo Center east of town. Todd Beiter of Saxet Gun Shows has a contract with the county through January 2014. He's been a law-abiding and responsible tenant who runs a safe and legal business. This proposed ban is not in response to anything that has happened at Saxet events, but in reaction to a terrible tragedy that occurred thousands of miles away in a state with some of the most stringent gun control laws in the country.
And if the county were to kick this tenant to the curb, not only would they lose the revenue from his contract, they could also face legal action.
Don't let this happen in Texas - even in a city whose official motto is "Keep Austin Weird!" Protect your Second Amendment rights and your pocketbook - urge your county Commissioners to oppose any plan to end gun shows in taxpayer-owned facilities!

Copied from another forum

"this is being held on a Saturday. Surely the 2nd Amendment is important enough to interrupt our busy lives on a Saturday, ONE weekend out of the year? If you have kids, you bring them along and give them a grassroots look at their civic responsibilities as citizens of this country. WE GOT TO WHERE WE ARE PRECISELY because conservatives are too busy to turn out on the streets and demonstrate their displeasure with their government. Is there a SINGLE civil rights issue anywhere on the planet—and have no doubt that the 2nd Amendment is a civil rights issue—that was won by its advocates without turning out into the streets? I think you'd be hard pressed to find one anywhere in human history.

Protesters in Iran turn out for their civil rights knowing beyond any doubt that some of them will not be going home that night. Protestors in China faced down main battle tanks in Tienamen Square. The black civil rights movement in the south in the 1950s, '60s, & early '70s faced police dogs, fire hoses, rioting policemen, and poor excuses for "citizens" who threatened and beat them, shot at them and even lynched them.

Gun owners in America, right now, have the luxury of protesting in the streets without facing that kind of persecution. I don't think it is worth losing your job over.........not YET.......but barring a commitment that is simply inescapable and more important than the immediate defense of the 2nd Amendment, we would be sorry pieces of work if we didn't ALL make it."

My other half said I should not take my 15yo daughter saying she doesn't need to be in the middle of that. I disagreed saying she needs to know the value standing up for our rights.
She will be going.
