"....and if the recoil's too much you can shoot 22LR or shorts through that magnum cylinder."  Was at a local shop recently and a guy at the counter asked the salesman why all the surplus .223 ammo he'd bought was in those little metal strips. Neither had a clue. He had the can with him so I dug around in there a bit and found the loading device for him. They wouldn't let me demonstrate it in the store, though.

I was at Gander Mntn looking at Montec broadheads one day. Wanted to know the advantages of stainless vs carbon steel broadheads. I walked up to a guy who worked there and asked him if he knew anything about archery. He looks at me and laughed smuggly and said "well I guess, im an archery instructor". After he told me that sainless were less likely to rust and that was the only difference - obviously not the answer i was looking for I asked him about the montecs and if he uses them. He replied "oh ya, ive shot 3 deer with em this year.". Hethen asked me if I had looked at the Rages. I said I had and didnt like them but he insisted on showing em to me and explaining how awesome they are. Confused I asked him "didnt you just say that you used Montecs?" He said this.. "Ya, but I keep 3 differnt broadheads in my quiver when I hunt". I asked him why and he looked at me and said this... Ive been bow hunting alot longer than you. You wouldnt understand".... Seriously. He said that. I looked at him and laughed and walked off.

During a discussion about catching hogs live with dogs, a guy told me that feral hogs are competent on the human anatomy, and when they attack they intentionally go for you femoral artery.

My favorite recent idiotic advice on here was that the orange colored speed limit signs in construction zones were only a suggestion, rather than the most horrible speeding violation that a person could get.

I always thought a school zone speeding violation was the most horrible speeding violation a person could get.
