We had Otto off the THF come over from North Carolina and hunt with us for a couple days.

Day #1 we had birds all over us...easily had 200+ birds on the water at LST...

We only shot birds that were squared up and landing...

Easily shooting a 3 man /(woman) limit! up

Kelly hunted a group in Bonham that day and did pretty well themselves! smile

The next day I took out Jared, Brian and Heather and Kelly took out Otto and his wife.

My group did good finishing just shy of 3 limits!

We had Ringers diving in making for some sporting shots!

Along with a few miss's...

And some connects:

The dogs Bo and Brandy taking a nap:

Jared with the birds before he cut out:

Brian and Heather with the final tally:

We then had Lefty Ray Chapa come up and do an article with us from San Antonio. Birds didn't cooperate to well with us, but we had a GREAT time!

Here are a few of the pictures that Lefty took:

In the layouts waiting for the birds:

Bruce with a couple Mallards they shot:

Bo with the headshot:

Me calling at some birds:

Photo shoot of me and Bo:

Product shot of my Lacrosse Boots:

Bo and a Mallard Drake:

Cool shell shot:

Was an EXTREMELY slow day:

The next day Kelly took a group of 4 guys out and did pretty well, and I took a Father and Son and only got a few.

Then Sunday I took another Father/Son combo and so did James in Nocona.

Both of us did very well.

Joey and his Dad put the smack down on the Mallards, and Yes some Girls got the beatdown!

Great pictures, i do love the ones of bo, how do you determine when you shoot a limit along with your customer versus not? I wonder this about all guides not just you

Christmas eve found me hunting with Paul on a new pond and the birds just aren't using it.

Still were able to drop 3 mallards.

Pic Paul took that morning:

Christmas Day I had the opportunity to hunt my new blind for the first time. (it was my Christmas present to myself!) up

I set up decoys in the pouring rain, and Lighting hittin all around me!

I had birds falling in quickly:

It didn't take long for me to scratch out a limit of 4 Mallard Drakes, 1 Gadwall drake and a GWT drake:

Today Kelly took 4 guys out from Louisiana. They took 20 birds before the faucet shut off...consisting of Gadwall, widgeon and Mallards! smile

I took Ryan and Matt off the THF and they got to shoot their first Mallards and Canada Goose which is at Pat's (www.avianarts.com)

Here is Bo retrieving a bird that they shot:

Matt and Bo enjoying the heater and Bo watching for more mallards:

Matt and Ryan with their birds:

WE had several other groups of mallards come over but they were spooky with the ice, at one point we had 4 mallard drakes come in, but we had a dead mallard drake in the open hole which I think spooked them.

GREAT time with a couple great guys! up

J.J.

Little Mans first duck hunt!

He would stand on his dad's chair and yell out "BOOM" I got HIM Dad!!! When the mallards would circle the blind...

After the hunt, I asked, "how many you think you got?"

He said: "I know I shot two, but might have gotten 4" up

The boys did all the shootin' with their 20 gauges! up

Scout got introduced to Ice and by the end of the hunt was on it!

This past Friday we had Drakes Migration Nation come and hunt with us for the last 4 days.

It is a totally different ball game filming birds then shooting birds!

In 4 days we put well over 50 birds on film being shot! Most within 15 yards! up

Day one with our Camera guys:

Day two we tried to film a timber hole but with cloudy skies killed the filming...we only were able to put 7 birds on film. Had close to 75 come in, in the first 30 minutes of LST, but couldn't shoot! bang

Day three, we hunted a pond near the refuge and had some GREAT action on film!

J.Paul, Ella and I with the birds:

Then Monday we hit the home run!

We hunted my wetlands next to the office...

Here is a picture I took the day before:

Camera guys filming Ella retrieve a bird:

J.Paul with a pintail being filmed:

Kelly talking on film:

J.Paul & Kelly having a good time:

Pic of the spread:

J.Paul with his limit of 5 Mallard drakes and 1 Pintail drake:

Bo, Me, Paul, Kelly, J. Paul & Ella with our birds: 23 drakes, 1 GWT hen:

We had a GREAT time with them...and look forward seeing the show come this summer!

We did a GREAT job representing North Texas Duck hunting! up

Yesterday I had a group from San Antonio come up with their RV to hunt for 3 days...

Today we headed out to one of my spots in Bonham and did very well! WE shot a 4 man limit in about 1.5 hours! grin

Life is good! up

J.J.
