Well I cannot find my good hunting knife anywhere and it is driving me NUTS! It was an old timer 158OT knife like this: http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl...29,r:0,s:0,i:91

except they don't make em in the US anymore like mine was! Hopefully it is just laying in the road at the lease!

I think I have a knife like that one. Had a guy hunting in West Texas with us loose his knife one night the trip back to HQ after gutting his mule deer. It was mile trip cross country in a Ranger then 3 miles to HQ. We looked a bit for it but figured it was a lost cause. The Ranch Foreman found it at a gate covered partially in the powdery dirt. Who knows it might show up for you somewhere. You check on Ebay?

yeah all the older ones made in USA are pretty used, but I will keep checking on there. I got real excited when I first searched for them but then realized all the new cheap ones are made in China. I bet we find it in a couple years. My Dad found it years ago so if I don't find it hopefully someone else does that will use it.

Funny how you get attached to a knife; I use a Buck Drop Point my youngest son got me 10 years ago. I thought I lost it three years ago in East Texas and blamed just about everyone for stealing my knife. I found it this year in an old hunting clothes bag I used to use.

I even made on just like the one I thought I'd lost, but it wasn't from him, that what makes it special for me.

Good luck; I hope you find your knife.

I've got one of those I've had for close to 15yrs. I carried daily for about 8 of those years then it got replaced by a pistol when I got my chl.

'Hope you find it. I've lost two Old Timer two-blade folders. It's been so long I don't even remember how. Also lost a Buck two-blade folder; pretty sure I left it on top of an I beam of a covered camping area in Big Bend. My dad had won it and he'd since passed away. That pretty much sucked. Enough miles and time had gone by by the time I realized it that it wasn't worth going back to look.

I did find a beat-up Mooremaker single blade on the side of the road in my neighborhood during a walk. I glued the handle as best I could and cleaned up the blade. It's not too shabby of a back-up knife.

I've also temporarily lost some knives in the manner described above - old hunting bags, etc.

I once lost my front tooth at the ranch gate. You might be surprised how many white rocks there are in west Texas that look like a tooth.

Dad & I both have that same knife & we both have the one that is similar but no guthook also (I believe they are called the Sharpfinger?) Great knife, we have had ours for 20+ years, hope yours turns up. Keep looking on Ebay, you'll find one.

I lost my knife in bow season. Really bummed me out because it was a custom.

Well, another guy on the lease found it mid-december. Looks like it fell out while I was filling feeders, he found it 30 yards outside a pen. No worse for wear other than a little sun-bleaching and a little rust.

Don't lose hope, it will probably turn up.

There is a black hole that sucks up knives.

I've lost several over the years, and someday I'm going to find that pile of knives.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I hope it turns up for you! I thought I lost three of my knives earlier this year: a Benchmade, Cold Steel Mini-Hunter, and a Wyoming knife, and I bought one replacement, then I found all three right in the exact place I left them. Now I have four good hunting knives. All in all, not a bad deal!

have not lost one since......

This is why the last few field knives I bought have bright orange handles.

have you tried any pawn shops or
flea markets or garage sales or
gun shows or the like?
they only made a half a gazzilion of
those and the sharpfingers. surely
there's one somewhere for you at a
reasonable price. if you're in san marcos,
take a weekend and drive to san antonio.
if i remember right, there were a half
a dozen military bases around there
and there ought to be a whole
something-something load of pawn shops
around and surely one will have
what you need.
good luck and keep a good
hold on the next one.
