I knew all of you hunts on private properties, maybe not all. Anybody hunted public hunting land, do they hold hogs and does deer hunters get irritated by hog hunters in public hunting lands?

as long as ya pay the $45, you can hunt whatever ya want on pl. deer season is bout over, so ya shouldn't really swet deer hunters getting mad anymore. get with tpwd on where gun vs bow locations are. i remember one down by austin, thinking it was the bow only one?

Been a few years since I hunted TPWD public land. Friends and I mostly hunted for dove. The few times we tried for hogs, we never connected with any.

Best of luck!

What area are you in? We do some hunting on the SHNF, I haven't had great luck but have a close friend who regularly sees deer on each sit. He's also spotted hogs and coyotes on multiple occasions as well as bobcats. I seem to only see cows.

I have hunted public lands a bunch, and unless you can fine where they hold up during the day and can get in without them winding you then your chances of getting any are pretty slim. They are just about completely nocturnal. Half of the success I have had on public land has been from other people running dogs and stirring up the hogs, otherwise they bed down in places I just as soon not go. The other times I have had success is when there is a short window of something they like to eat in season, blackberries in spring sure make them less cautious.
