This morning I was loading the 4 wheeler into the back of my truck as I was going up there must have been some ice still on the ramp I did not see and the 4 wheeler went side ways and the ramps kicked out. At this point my butt pucker went up and the 4 wheeler hit the center and rolled off the truck and flipped over backwards. I had strapped my cooler to the back of it preventing it from coming over on top of me talk about a close call. So next time you load up check those ramps good and find a ditch to back up to to level out better not as steep it was a eye opener for me and a close call.

That could have ended up bad for you if you had put the cooler on ahead of time.

I never ride mine up or down. I just stand to the side and throttle it up. When i get it out, i just lef off the park brake and ease it down with the hand brake. It works fine and is a lot safer. I also don't have to try to jump out of the bed. My feet stay on the ground!

It only had to happen to me one time having the ramps shift, ever since, I stand beside and throttle up the ramp, no issues since, no butt puckering needed.

Been there before, i always strap down my ramps and while loading i stand to the side of the 4 wheeler with one knee on the seat just incase i need to jump off. Or like the other guys said just stand beside it.

Had a friend end up in the emergency room to get sewn up after one of the cables broke on the tailgate as he was riding his ATV into the bed of his truck.

glad you're ok.. i ended up buying a small utility trailer cause i hated loadin' my 4 wheeler up in the back of my truck.. it has a levelin' kit and 35's, so i hated takin' the risk.. you can find them on craigslist pretty cheap..

I learned my lesson when I was pulling up and a weld broke on the hinge. It collapsed and so did the 4 wheeler. Not sure how but my dad caught the back of the 4 wheeler when it collapsed and gave me just enough time to bail. Eye opener for sure. Glad your ok.

I always use the straps that hook to the bumper to keep the ramps from sliding out.
