Last few hours for a buck this year. Anybody drag your demoralized self out into the woods? I'm here. Way too many does shot on our place this year by other hunters so I'm holding out for something with a little bone up-top.
Been one heck of a year. Seen less than a dozen deer all year. Almost can't wait for it to end.

Wish it would hurry up and end so what few deer that are left can be safe! I'd wish it would end to knock me out of my misery. Btw.....how's the 1400 buck doing. Which taxidermists are you using?

Yep decided to make the trip. That old saying "You Never Know" kept playing in my head this afternoon so I came on out. Haven't seen a single deer all weekend. Maybe ill get lucky. You never know......

1400 is at the taxi, need to decide on a pose! I guess my "big boy" gets another year to grow, he should be a straight up monster next year!

Just saw a fawn and the resident 2 year old 7pt i see everytime i come. Bout 15 more mins...

I've seen probably no more than 6 deer all season in Erath. Worst year on record. The deer are there, just completely nocturnal. The camera doesn't lie. I killed my buck early, thank goodness. My son and brother each shot a hog. Oh well, should be a great season come november. Acorns, warm weather, moon phase did us in. Lots of Turkey though.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.
Don't text and drive.

I am gonna check in to the lamps permits for next season too, 4 days of doe season isnt enough, especially when i work thanksgiving every year.

Time to start for next season for me. I've got blinds that need some TLC, feeders that need to be moved and new tactics. Going to run some water in a tub this year to try and help. I like harvesting an animal but I think I like preparation just as much.
