Always hunted out of tripods and ground blinds but on new lease and found great place for a tree stand. What brand do yall use or will anything work? My dad just now is letting me hunt trees by myself because he hates tree stands.

get a good safety harness. one that lets you lower yourself after a fall. tree stands vary. i like the climbers, because you can move them over or under the trail depending on thermal flow. then its like having 7 stands in 1 . that being said. i really like the cable climbers. they are really good on trees and use leverage to hold ya to the tree. its basically stand up..sit down..all the way up. USE THE STINKIN SAFETY HARNESS WILL YA? HERE IS MY FAVORITE ONE AND I HOPE THIS ONE HELPS TOO

I have three now...I have a spot where the woods are real thick and there is one tree to use and my climber wont work on it..so I use a ladder stand..very comfortable of all stands but it stays put once set up you do not want to move this bigo steel ladderstand around and it takes two people to set up..climber I love my climber not the most confortable seat in the world but I can go as high as I want and can move if I want the only thing about a climber is you have to have good trees to climb..hang ons are good I dont use mine allot there allot of work I keep it as a spare..

Woodsey Too. They will work on almost any tree you come across. Little pricey but well worh it. Bought my first one about eight years ago and has been in a tree ever since and is still just as good as new....

I like the Summitt hang ons. They have a bracket with a strap that you put on the tree and then hang the stand on this bracket. Very easy and safe.
Do wear a safety harness.

This stand is a knock off of the Woodsey Too. I have both. This one is well worth the price. The seat is a little noisy but nothing a little grease cant fix. With that being said...The Woodsey is a way better stand. I prefer the Woodsey over any other stand on the market. In fact, you cant find a better, more comfy hang on. The Lone Wolf's are nice too. They are light and easy to get in and out of a tree.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

A good safety harness is key for what every type of tree stand you are getting no matter if it’s a lock on or climbing stand it makes it easier to set up and the good ones will be more comfortable when you’re sitting in the stand
I prefer a lock on one myself with a large platform, I’m always worried a climber is making too much noise as I’m getting up and down

I can only sit in those for about 30-45 mins and have to get out. But to each his own. And yes a quality safety harness is a must. Please do yourself and your family the favor of wearing one. I used to not wear one until I had a daughter but I had one save my life this year.

I am not sure on these but they look like some I have. What I have are about 3' each and I start about 3' off the ground and space them about 1' apart so 3 will get me close to 15' up.

The Grey Ghost by Woodsey Too out of Granbury is top notch. They adjust to fit and angle on a tree, they have grease zerks for the hinged parts, and guaranteed noiseless.

i picked one of these up the other day, missed the $49 sale by a few days, the rails are 32"
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

For the tree stand there are several good ones out there but ensure you have a great safety harness, one I would recommend is the Ultralite safety harness by hunter safety system. I have used it and tried it. Compared to others it is great.

I have 2 of these and they're awesome. They don't come with the bow holder pictured though

Spend the extra money and research a stand with (a) rails/arms rests of some sort (b) a padded seat (c) a large enough foot rest to stand on and stretch out (d) something you can maneuver.
And don't forget your harness!!!
