I have a chance to lease a piece of hunting property near Colorado City and just wondering if anyone had any info for that area. I will be going to see the property after the season closes. No one hunts this property except for 1 family member once a year. Thanks for your help in advance.

I hunt bout 45 min South of there and there are good numbers of deer in the area I'm in. Lots of 130 and 140 class deer

Hunted on the Spade when I was younger. Good hunting.

Been on a lease for 4 years 6 miles south. The drought really hit us hard the last two years.Most deer are small 110 to 120 at the most.

Thanks for the input. I hope to get to look for sheds there when it is time. There is no rush to lease this property as I am the only one it is being offered to, so I have plenty of time to look it over.

It really depends on which direction you go as far as population and quality.

High numbers, 110-120's are common.

i hunted the spade also for about 4 years back about 10 years ago.... i sure would like to hunt back out there but the fuel would kill me

Hunted quail on part of the Spade last year and saw good number of does but no bucks.

I remember it was odd that I never saw one standing still. They were always running full speed-even those that were 300+ yards away!

Grew up in Colorado City, where about is it and who's land? I probably know them and can tell you a little about it.
