Lots of good ones out there. In double action it is hard to go wrong with a Ruger GP100 or a used Security Six

I've got 2, the ruger lcr and a taurus tracker 6". Taurus is by far my favorite to shoot, even with buffalo bore .357 its not punishing. Single action trigger, very crisp, 6" barrel was very accurate for me.

LCR is a different story, compact, fits my hand nice, easy to conceal. Not really pleasant at the range though, recoil in 357 for the small frame was stout, 38spec is manageable. Accurate as can be expected out of a 2" barrel, put some paint on the front sight if you get one. I picked the .357 model as it is slightly heavier than the .38spec version and felt better in my hand. Another reason I selected this, my best friend practices krav maga self-defense, most of his disarm techniques require a slide or a hammer. No moving external parts, shrouded hammer, i can fire from inside a pocket.

I wanted a S&W to be honest, just the one I want I can't afford yet wink.

The Smith and Wesson model 627, 327 is on my list!! 8 rnd 357 mag. Just something about having 8 rnds or 357mag ready to go does it for me and these revolvers look awesome. Non fluted cylinder, contoured barrel.

Put your hands around a 4"-6" "N" Frame S&W & see what you think!

Ruger Blackhawk 4" or GP100.

Love 'em both.

This, or a Ruger GP100.

I have a Ruger SP101 that is Cadillac. Wouldn't replace it with any other wheel gun.

I am either unlucky or it is just difficult to find a quality revolver. Every shop I go to has 100's of autos and a few snub nose carry revolvers. I've been looking for a 4" large frame smith or gp100 for a month now and haven't been able pin one down. I guess I will have to pay "I can't find it penalty" and get one from gun broker.

If you can swing it try to find a King Cobra or a Python. Both are super sweet. I've got a 4" King Cobra and it will reach out and touch something.

I agree, I love my S&W 66. It's accurate and my first choice as my night stand gun.

I love my Taurus 607. 7 shots of 357mag, pretty blued finish, and more accurate than I am. Taurus may get a bad rap, but this gun has been flawless in every way.
