Guys the last time we posted any video stills for you guys we were closing in on our goal of killing 100 coyotes for this season and we are rite there. New year's day me, Gary Bennet and son Ethan headed out hopefully to hit the mark as we only needed 5 more to make it happen. We kicked off our first stand on that cold and foggy morning with high expectations as we had the perfect wind, location, and had witnessed coyotes running the fields on the way there. needless to say, we had coyotes laying everywhere 20 minutes later. They came and kept coming separately until numbers 96, 97, and 98 lay dead.

We let the first get rite on top of us at about 20 yards. The facial expression we captured of this coyote is priceless as he seemed to stare a hole into the lens of the camera.

3 minutes later from the exact same spot appeared his buddy heading down the same trail to meet his fate. I told gary to let him get down wind of the first coyote so he will hopefully go to investigate the other coyote "sleeping" just ten yards up wind. Luckily, it was like he read the script! the moment number two smells number one he turns completely broadside, tucks his tail, and lays his ears back in submission to what was most likely his superior. It always amazes me how coyotes have a very obvious pecking order and there was no doubt this coyote thought he was somewhere he wasn't supposed to be.

This was a beautiful coyote!

Number three came into about 80 yards and would not close the gap like the first two. Nevertheless, we only had two more coyotes to kill and the entire day ahead of us to do it. 5 dry stands later, we were still at the same count until we made a stand rite behind Gary's house and called in a pair of calf eaters. We managed to kill the lead dog on camera at 25 yards as his buddy got out of the country. I have not had time to grab any stills from number 99 but will soon for you guys to see.

We came up one short but the day was still a complete success as we managed to get the best daytime coyote footage we have ever captured and couldn't have been more excited.

For now, we are headed out this evening and tonight to close the deal and will for sure give everyone an update on the results.

Stay after 'em! Chris
