Luckily I don't know anyone dumb enough to live near Chicago.
I still hope those folk have some rights left after all of this... even if they don't vote to have rights

I'll be more surprised if this bill doesn't passed than I would be if it did pass.

It really is a full court gun ban press. What the heck are they 'expecting' that requires this level of urgency?

You know, Illinois isnt all that liberal. Chicago is. I have spent a lot of time up there in West Central portion of the state and they are just like us. They dont like Obama and they love their guns.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

They dont like Obama and they love their guns. That is actually the case in most states, even Cali and NY. The mindset in highly populated areas is very different from those who do not with to live in a busy city.

They dont like Obama and they love their guns. If that is true, and I hope it is, then that bill needs to die in committee. The other Senators need to demand a new election for Senate President and push that guy out. While Chicago may have a strong voice, the other Senate Representatives need to stand by their voters and respect the 2nd amendment. The State's Attorney General should also get involved and point out the law would be a violation of the rights of Illinois' citizens.

I live on a lake in a small town in Northern Michigan in the summer and in East Texas in the winter. Lots of northern states, like Illinois and New York, are unfortunately dominated politically by the big cities. Michigan has Detroit and Flint, then the rest of the state is full of hunters and bass and salmon fishermen and conservatives like me. But Michigan is a blue state because the big population areas, unions and welfare folks are a solid Democratic block. We finally got a Republican Governor with some gonads who put through Right To Work legislation in 2012 despite hatred and death threats from the Left. And so far, at least, we haven't had the idiotic gun control stuff like Illinois.

They dont like Obama and they love their guns. I think that's true for a lot of the country. The most liberal areas are in the urban population centers. Once you get out of town, the folks are a lot more conservative and hold traditional values. Seems like "liberal" and "stupid" are two common characteristics of the urbanites.

This is the State that was trying to get the Nat'l Shooting Ctr. NSSA/NSCA to move there to keep the Trap shooters company..they were building a huge complex to encourage competition shooters.. Seems the nothern boys thought they'd travel less..You'd think after 50 plus years of trying to control gun owners and politics that this bunch would wake up. Or, at least learn to ADD & SUBTRACT, as they cannot even keep their largest city afloat..DD
