A friend of mine had two guns stolen out of his new truck while it was sitting in his driveway. I told him that I knew a group of guys that might help be on the look out for them. He is offering a reward! Contact me for his contact info. (He is a nonmember)
He also provided me the serial numbers but didn't feel they were needed at this point.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Here is the information on both guns:
Colt 1911 Series 80 Government Model, 38 Super, Matte Stainless Steel aftermarket trigger, hammer and beaver tail safety.
Ruger Ranch Rifle (Mini 14) .223 caliber, also stainless steel, factory wooden stock, small Weaver scope. Piece broken off of factory butt plate.

I used to live in Brady. Never locked doors on anything, house, truck, car,etc... Never had anything missing. Guess times have changed. That's a shame.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Going to be at the San Antonio gun show this weekend (I know, crazy) I will keep an eye out.
Indeed pictures would help.

Hopefully you have the serial numbers and made a police report. I posted about a month ago about a stolen pistol only to be returned to me 8 years later.

I'm originally from Brady. Lots of thefts happening in Brady right now. They will get caught soon. They also hit a car just down the block from where these were taken. This was very close to my dad's house.

Sorry to hear. I had two Stag AR15 uppers stolen 10 minutes after I bought them. I remembered every vehicle in the little parking lot and the ONE that didn't look right. The guys in the DLR vehicle had been in the store trying to sale a item, while part of his group had been casin gthe store. Luckily the store had a great camera system.
FWPD Investigators found the guys and both uppers. I got them back within two weeks.
Best of Luck!

You seem sure that your friend filed a report. It would not hurt to check. He needs Without a police report the guys here that are willing to keep an eye out are helpless if they actually find one.
I immediately reported mine when it was stolen. I then checked pawn shops. 100% of the ones I went to said that all gun sales are called in and it would be caught at time of sale. This is good assuming the pawn shop is honest. I don't think any of them would want to be caught selling stolen guns, a big no-no. I discovered that checking pawn shops was a waste of time. I also checked with surrounding police departments to see if anything had turned up. They too said that they check the serial numbers, and if it was found they could get it back to the owner if reported. A police report seems to defiantly get the ball rolling.
