Just realized. In the last two seasons I have come up empty on deer or any harvest. Am I the only one???

Harvested a mature doe this year. First time I have pulled the trigger in many years. I'm very picky when it comes to bucks.

I usually have a chance at a good buck every year but I pass them up. Sometimes I'll go 4 or 5 years between bucks but it's worth it when you finally take a truly big deer. Hang in there, one of these days you'll get a shot at a really good one.

7mag, i have not pulled a trigger on a deer in 6 years, I don't feel like I have to kill a deer every year or the season was a waste. I have a blast killing hogs. i am just very picky on the deer I shoot and have not seen anything in 6 years that I just had to take down. I spend more time video'n and the deer population in my area has really come on strong, where in the past they had kinda suffered due to excessive hunting pressure in the area. i have talked to the neighbors and they do shoot some deer, but are not of the mind frame they gotta kill every year or its a wasted season. everyone is different, but don't feel bad because you have not killed in 2 seasons.

Two healthy Does for the freezer. That was the last week of Nov. Seen only 1 small 6 pt. and small 8.. They were seen 1st. week of season. Let those fellas walk. Since then. Nothing, nada. No tracks, corn not eaten. My little place is usually covered with deer this time of year, as I feed year round. Very strange. We still have till Sunday. So maybe something will happen.

Just an open comment, but I've never come across anyone who spends a good bit of time at their lease or property during the off season, who had a lot of trouble taking deer once the season rolled around. Much of it boils down to just making sure those feeders are maintained, which a lot of guys just can't seem to get done. You mention to them in June or July that you're going to be headed to the lease next weekend and they always have something else to do. But once it's three or four weeks into the season and their feeder is empty because they haven't refilled it since a week before the season opener, they're asking to hunt your stand.
Sure, this season started off slow. But it's really heated up since. You just have to stay after them and pick good days when the weather in is your favor. And this weekend is going to be one of them.
And get off the ATV and walk more. Case in point. One of the places that I hunt is a small, 150 acre tract of family land. A friend and I began hunting it several years ago and it soon became a deer honey hole. It didn't take long for some of the family members to find out (thanks to my friend) and then several of them started hunting it. However, they prefer to always drive their trucks near the stands. As a result, the deer have all but disappeared, none to my surprise. This season I've just practically stayed away from the place and waited for them get it out of their system. Last week when it appeared they had given up, I decided to corn an area where I once had an oat patch. I corned it around noon and waited unitl the following evening to hunt it. After parking my truck at the gate and making a comfortable half-mile walk to my stand, five doe walked out well before dark and started eating like there was no tomorrow. Despite being a tract where family members will shoot practically anything, only one doe has been taken this entire season, and that was on Opening Day when all the vehicle traffic first began.

I might have agreed with you up until this year. Worst deer season I've seen in a long time! It can turn around in a single hunt and there's still one weekend left in the general season.

We have had a slow year on our place.... one buck and five does between 10 members, but we are pretty picky. I passed on a couple earlier that were shooters, now can't find one...
Wife has a doe, and freezer is still full, and I did get a pig... one last chance Sat and Sunday for the buck, then it's spike/doe season or to my friends MLD place if they have buck tags left

I've gone "oh-fer" a couple years before. I don't worry about it. If anyone asks, I'm a hunter, not a killer. I've also killed most of my best deer in the last light of the last day, after everyone else has packed up and moved off and it's all quiet and still, nobody out there but me. This weekend looks good.

I have no problem with not shooting a deer, heck I'm to picky for my own good and seldom ever shoot anyway but I do like seeing them when I'm in the stand. We get a lot of night time pics on the cams but very seldom any daytime pics or sightings. Can't blame it on acorns as all we have are Mesquites. Been a tough season for us.

u r not alone...just got back from my last hunt, both my son and I scored a big fat ZERO this season...not only did we not harvest a deer, we did not manage to see a single deer on our property all season including archery...worst year ever for 'seeing/killing' deer for us...ate our last pan venison sausage this week, freezer nearly empty...
