A relative's home in Carollton was burglarized in broad daylight last Monday, December 10. The thief (or thieves) made off with a Mossberg pump and an Anschutz target rifle. They were apparently attempting to also steal a bunch of handguns but left them behind in the homeowner's rolling suitcase! Specifics on the two guns that were stolen as follows:

Mossberg 590 12 gauge pump gun with heat shield, side saddle, and speed feed stock, serial number R183930 (Don't have a picture of this specific gun yet. Will post/update if one becomes available.)

Anschutz Model 54.18 MS-R serial number 248277
Butt hooks, palm rests/rail full

Here's what he says about the Anschutz: "I don't have a picture of my actual gun but found this one on Gunbroker - the sights on mine are a significant upgrade compared to the ones pictured. Here's the best picture I have of another 54.18 Match - sorry there's a scoped Anschutz behind it that kind of throws things off - "

post this all over the place. We found 1 stolen gun here, and another stolen gun on 24hourcampfire. Post this thing on any forum you can man... get the whole internet involved and looking.

Provide as many details as humanly possible.

Posted it at Steel Chickens, it's a silhouette sight where these guns are very coveted.

Not to be an azz but most burglaries occur during the day because people are at work. Losses like this could easily be prevented with a decent safe. If you have guns, they are expensive and highly desired by the criminals. Lock them up and they won't get stolen.

I agree with you, Alan D. The problem in this case is that our friends have more guns than safes! That's the kind of "problem" that many of us wish we had. They have added an additional safe now, but of course that's after the fact.
