Maybe a fishing story but had to share. Me and my fishing partner were pre fishing for tourney on Saturday after a good day of fishing we headed back to the ramp at Box Caynon, it's up the river from lake Amistad. We made the turn and headed in when we notice something in the water, thinking it was calf that had lost its mother we headed over to it. To our surprise it wasn't a calf but a Black Bear, Big Black Bear. He probably weighed 225/250 and had a huge head. We notified the park service and game warden, I later found out that he (the bear) did make it to land and was reported to be in good shape. He did make it ashore close to a small lakeside neighborhood, all residents were warned to keep a eye on their pets!

I bet he would have hit a top water if you had tried it.  Nice to get a pic of it for proof also.

My son hooked into a 13 to 15 pound Grindle or Bowfin at lake fork once and proceeded to swing him into the boat with us. I'll bet that bear wouldn't have caused any more carnage if you would have boated him.  cool pic
