Well, I had a pretty bad year. I atleast see rinky dink spikes or 3 pointers.. sometimes a few 2 yr old basket racks.. Notta this year. My friend took out two 8 points that were BARELY legal... I have hunted their atleast 8 times in the past 2 weeks and all I have saw was the same ol 2 to 2-1/2 yr old doe.. Saw her this morning about 8:00.. Made a ton of noise pouring corn out and getting situated in my blind at about 5:30. Sprayed some Tinks #1 Doe-p and she must have liked it because she came hauling butt down the small pipeline, stopped at the corn, ate for about 10 minutes then wondered off. I hunt on 11 acres off of spring creek. I have been hearing gun shots.. Hope they are shooting legal deer. It would be a shame for the population to get anyworse.. I was also blanked in Comesneil Tx and Elkhart this year.. Whats up with these deer. frown

Hunting in magnolia would be better in a gated community.

haha... Im sure someone else will do it for me. Doe seasons over in my county.. Muzzleloader comes up but if she is staying around. I would rather her just take care of that (HOPEFULLY BUCK) in her belly, eat my corn and just camp out back their without drawing anymore attention... to that side area til next year.

I hunt a little north of where you hunt and its been the same with me. nothing but the same doe. I haven't taken any of them hoping that they can help repopulate. there was a little 4 point that I would see but it soon disappeared. thinking that it was illegally taken. this year wasn't good for me at all.

You don't always see something or get a shot. That's why they call it hunting, not killing.

Where at you are you hunting? Their was 2 8pts shot out there, first I have ever seen that old.. But it was around rut.. nothing since mid november out their. With all the woods and my feeders hunting pressure down the ways on both sides, You would think they would hang tight to the creek. Ive seen some prints to some monsters but I also heard it grunt 2 days ago then I heard a gunshot the next day in the direction he was at.

I actually hunt in Houston county. and there was two 8 points taken from the property that I hunt on. but your right it was during the rut. I have seen only one buck print that is a good size but I think he just moving from property to property because I haven't seen him yet.
