I recently purchased a savage predator hunter max 1 22-250 and can not make up my mind what optics I want to put on it (to many options). Looking to spend $500-600 give or take. I have looked at the leupold vx-R and vx-3L among many others. So I thought I would post here to get some opinions. Want something above 3x9x40

Are you varmint hunting with that caliber? Any of the zeiss conquest models would be a sound pick. Just curious if you need low light features or reticle options.

Go to the zeiss website. The have a new z600 and z800 reticle that looks great for calculating long range holdover shots. Got video tutorials there. The 3x9 40 conquest with the z600 is 399 with 100 dollar rebate if ordered today. They send you a 100$ Visa card. I did one on my new binocs. Good luck and let e know your thoughts

Thanks for the input. I came across a Leopold vx-3 4.5x14x50 here on the forum that was to hard to pass up. I may put this on my cdl 270 and my Zeiss on the savage.

Just went and picked up the leupold and I think I am going to be very pleased. Can't wait for the rifle to arrive. El suave did you have to use high rings?

I had a Mrk III 3.5X10X50 w/AO on a Ruger No1 SS 338 Win Mag..and
I took a lot of game with it without one problem. I gave it to my nephew who took it to Ak. where he and a Seal buddy of his were shooting it and a 338 Lapua Mag at 1000 yd range..He said it
functioned flawlessly..I have a Mark IV 8.5X25 Tact. on my 308 TRG and it also works without any problems..Good Shooting..Don

I have heard the red field revolution, which is made by Leopold, is just as good for about half the price. I am looking at this for the same thing. Probably going with the red field revolution 3x9 or 4 x 12

I have an old model red field on my winchester model 70 243 xtr and it has done just fine for me. Haven't looked thru a revolution but I can tell you the vx3 is pretty sharp

Is it just me?I compared the revenge with revolution and the revenge looked clearer. Any one else compared the two?
