Pretty cool.

I guess you saw it? If you see one, don't shoot it. It would be illegal

When I told the GW about the sighting, he reminded me of the same thing: better not shoot it.

The Cherryhomles ranch east of Jacksboro is loaded with them. Was told they came off the Squaw mountain preserve. Had a friend kill one south of Graham along the Brazos river 10 years ago while varmint hunting at night, told me he thought it was a feral hog until he got to it.

How can Squaw Mountain offer a hunt on them if there is no legal season for Jack County?

Durn little critters finally got smart, decided their were better places to live than Big Bend and eat cacti and fight rattlers. That is why I left that area. smile

What is the difference between a feral hog and a javelina? Aren't both of them swine and both of them a nuisance? My brother is on base in el paso and they shoot them all the time. Guess I am gonna have to hold off until they open a season And we're overrun with em.

Javis are like rats not hogs. They only have 2 little ones a year. Gonna be a very long time before we are overrun with them...

Javelina and feral hogs are nothing alike. Javelina do no harm except upset us hunters by eating the corn they intended for deer.
Hope your brother knows the limit is two javelina per year per person.

Throckmorton county has plenty, we see them regularly. However, we don't shoot them much
