A guy has a Savage 308 with a bull barrel it is the synthetic styock with the sand camo job on stock. Have no idea the value of the gun is there a way to find model from serial number on the internet where I could find out whayt it is worth?

Yep sounds like someone did a custom of a Model 10 if there are no markings on the barrel. Depending on the manufacturer of the barrel, whose composite stock was use, and condition the price could be all over the place from $300 to $800 or so.
