Hi QS12, Our top public shotgun facility is Elm Fork Shooting Sports. It is on the west side of Dallas, so it's a little closer for you. Their website is www.ELMFORM.com.Shoot well!

If you live in the Ft. Worth area, the closest is Alpine in Mansfield. Arlington Sportsman club is a great place for skeet as well but you need to be a member

I have personally been to Alpine in the last month and they are good. Simple but effective and relatively cheap.

Living in Arlington I have shot skeet at Alpine for over 30 years. Elm Fork is a great range but a bit higher in price. Arlington Sportsman club range is located in Mansfield. My Dad is a member. Its a great range for both skeet, trap, rifle, and pistol. On the skeet range though generally you have to bring a group or someone with you to throw for you.

+1 for Elm Fork. They might be a little bit more expensive but they provide you with remotes on skeet and trap so you can shoot with your group without a trapper or you can set a delay on the remote and shoot solo. The remote also allows you to shoot solo on the sporting clays course also. I have shot plenty of skeet solo when my buddies couldn't show up.
Staff is always very friendly and helpful. This is a MAJOR plus in my book. The don't try to intimidate but rather educate which is why I see a lot of new shooters return there.

ftw quack - Quail Creek is off of 1171 in Justin which is the one you are thinking of. They only have pistol, rifle and archery range. No skeet, trap or SC.
There is a new sporting clays place in Decatur. Haven't made it out there but want to soon.

Fossil Pointe is a great sporting clays range, they don't have skeet or trap. They have 3 sporting clays courses and a rifle & pistol range.

Have shot at them all and Elm Fork is by far the nicest facilities, but for distance, Alpine is really close and like said above, is cheaper. For skeet, I'd go there.

Garland range has a small skeet range...nothing too fancy though No, Garland does not have a skeet range. They have the equivalent to pasture clays. I think the OP is looking for a true, regulated skeet range, or a range with other clay sports.

+1 for both Elm Fork and Alpine. I've been to Elm Fork a dozen times or so (just 5 min from me) and it's always a top notch facility. Be prepared for a bit of a wait on the weekends if you're only shooting 1 style though. I'll shoot just about anything so if there's a wait for say a wobble bay then I'll just jump on a trap bay.
