Thanks Stx. He is my personal best and I was very excited to have see him and get a shot. Came out as with just enough light to shoot.

I grew up not far from Ft. McKavett in Junction. We lived a mile or so off of FM 1674. I used to go by the fort on Toe Nail Trail going back and forth to college at ASU. Nice country and nice people there. Nice deer, too.

Thanks all. I passed on a lot of "normally" good bucks in search of him. I killed him opening weekend in a blind that i placed in a difficult spot to get to and am really the only one who hunts it. We hunt on tge eastern edge of menard county and have seen a very good improvement in our buck population and growth, i figure mostly due to better selection. The turky was a bonus shot with my 7mag just to see if I could make the neck shot. As excited and proud as I am, im more excited about taking my 9 year old daughter to try and get her first deer. Hopefully will post her and her success story in a couple of weeks.
