Alright I am not wanting to make a fortune or have it as a business but I have a surplus of hogs at my place and am wanting to get rid of them. It is a primitive ranch, it is camping out in tents or whatever you bring and have one of those bag showers. Cooking on open fire.
I want people to be able to come out and shoot pigs because I know people just want some freezer meat so I want to be able for them to do that but of course it cost me money to get down there and also fill my feeders.
My question is what would be a fair price for people to pay so I can cover my gas and buying corn? 100 bucks up front and like 25 per pig after with as many as you want? Don't even have to clean them all, take what you want, leave what you want. Just trying to get a feeler out there. Thank you guys in advance

Why not just give them the freezer meat for their families? There is a lot of hungry families in Texas.

Jesus will never ask you how much you have. But He will ask you if you gave to someone who had nothing.

well if I just drive everyone down there that wants to go Ill go broke from the gas bill lol. If people want meat though I can just bring a hog back from when I by myself too. No problem with that

If you are looking to cover cost. Do groups of 4+ and have them bring say 5 bags of corn each and $50.00 per man. If you want to make some cash charge 200-250 for a Friday at 3:00 thru Sunday at 12:00 with no limits on pigs.

like the corn idea. Other issue is it would have to be during the week. I work weekends so I know that would make it hard for some folks.

Freer-
First where are you located?
Second- As a "consumer" (hunter) I'm always looking for a place to hunt pigs with my son and/or a 40 yr friend.
We have hunted a place near Houston for $100/head Can't do that very often as the cost gets too high and we have hunted near Childress for free but that is 1 week a year we can get on that place.
How about a suggestion of $50/hog and 2 or 3 bags of corn per hunter? It could cover your gas and somecorn and help you get rid of those pesky hogs.

Hey Freer,

I like your pricing. I could put together a group of 4 to 6 people. Let us know what you decide.

I'd like to get in on some hog hunts when and if we ever finally get settled. It seems like every time I look, the cost of getting these pest under control and helping to eliminate a major crisis keeps going up.

We have someone coming to look at our house for sale on Friday. Maybe our day is getting closer. Hopefully we will be able to find a suitable place around Abilene or San Angelo.

Charging people 25 bucks a hog is pretty steep I think. I would say 50 to 100 bucks a hunter. I'm not trying to be rude or anything but your wanting people to come help with a hog problem so you don't want to charge to much. I would be up for a hunt with a few buddies if it ends up being a good price

Im not following your post txdeerhunter? Was that supposed to be 250? Totally agree on the not to much part. Money is going to go to gas, ranch maintenance, and corn. Pretty much just trying to break even lol

This is an old ad from a place that used to operate out in Commerce Tx. From the flyer, you can see what they offered. IIRC, the cost was $250 from friday through sunday. I would say that since you wouldn't be offering cabins with hot showers and meals, your price would need to be substantially lower than the $250 they charged.
