I betcha 5 dollars one of the dots is on Hillary Clinton of Chappaqua, NY. She and Diane Feinstein are both hypocrites who feel that they need handgun permits, all the while denying permits for the rest of their minions.

If it made it to Texas, the whole state map would be blotted out with gun owner locations.

I think it works pretty well for the criminal element to target houses that DON'T have firearms. Way to identify houses that more than likely don't have a firearm in the nightstand. Idiots

Feel a tad regretful about bragging how you have a carry license?

Look at this kind of the other way. If a criminal looks at that map to figure out who to rob I would want a big red flashing dot for gun owner on my house. Where do these shootings keep taking place......gun free zones.

I cant quote the actual section of the TX PC but Im pretty sure CHL holders have some protection ie: the State will not share their license information with anyone by virtue of the statute itself which I maintain would exempt this information from the FIA which that journalist used in NY. I know that doesnt keep some appointed bureaucrat from rolling over, just sayin.

Maybe some of our legal scholar members could expound.

Put one of these in your front yard.

I am fine with every one knowing I own guns. I don't think that it is right for that to be published! But it doesn't bother me. I think everyone in my neighborhood owns one so there would be just one big red blot here.

Keep em huntin and they wont have time to get in trouble!! And remember RESPECT goes a long way!!

Check the stats, in 2010, less than 2% of Texans had a CHL. Even if that doubled it would be only 4% or 4 out of 100. Even the state of Florida has more than Texas, it was reported awhile back that Florida had passed a million CHL permits, the largest number of any state.

I don't have a CHL because I prefer not to have the authorities knowing right where to go for firearms. I do have to admit a police friend once referred it to a 'good guy card' as it makes a lot of cops relax a little.

Seems that a lot of people might also think like that. confused

Were those stats only including people who had a TX issued permit? I'm betting there are many that have theirs through a different state but one that TX honors. For example, mine is from VA.

Plus Texas has extended the castle doctrine to your vehicles, so many choose not to have a CHL.

In Texas, only law enforcement agencies can see if you have a Texas CHL. And when they do look at your info (which I think they can only see name and zip code), you MUST by law be informed by the state of Texas that you were being checked on.

Texas is a wonderful state.

The map is not accurate for most of the state anyhow.
