It's called trailering it around to the different pastures and putting out hay.

Not much moving this morning. Only had 2 does come in. It was 21 when I got in the stand. Wouldn't have been too bad if the wind would have stayed down. My toes were hurting they were so cold.

I had a buddy heater my cousin let me borrow but it wouldn't stay lit more than a few minutes.

Hopefully this afternoon is perfect. I have until the 1st to get my trophy for the season.

Loaded up and out this morning at 4:00 to allow for icy roads. You can imagine my surprise when 25 miles out of town there isn't a flake of snow on the ground. And I had 6-7 inches piled up on the cab of my truck this morning. Strange. Anyway, going on 7 hours of sitting still and not one 4 legged creature has shown himself. Bummer.

After shooting the yote, I got down about 10:30. Drove around a bit and didn't see much. Pulled the card on the game cam and it looks like they fed hard from midnight until 5:30am. I had dumped a full bag of corn up and down the pipeline rightofway on Monday anticipating hunting today and they had torn in up.

Got a bite to eat and am already back in the stand. Wind has laid down and I'm hopeful for a good afternoon.

Another yote goes down. This one was about 60 yards and head-shot her. Only have 3 shells left for this gun, so saving them for deer.

On a different note, anyone know a good place to pick up some shells for a 257 Weatherby in Wise or Tarrant County?

Back in the stand. Saw good movement this morning. When I returned I ran 3 does of the feeder.

Kenny I'm out near Joplin past Runaway Bay. Buddy missed a yote this morning. No deer here but been back in the stand since 2. Seeing any movement yet?

Thanks, I'll try those.

What a long day. Phone died about 3:30 to make it longer. I saw 2 does at 8:30, three yotes (killed 2), then about 8 does showed up right as it was getting dark. Also a couple of bucks, but it was too dark to tell much about them.

I'd packed alot in, so I went to get the truck and drove back to the stand. Rounded the corner and the buck I'm after was at the feeder. The moon is like a spotlight in the sky and there's enough snow to make it very easy to see. I bet they feed all night.

Came back to Cowtown and won't go back out until that moon dies off or we get a cloudy night. Can't imagine better conditions than this afternoon but still got basically shut out. Saw less today (during legal shooting light) sitting all day than I've seen in any one afternoon or morning this year. Frustrating and strange.

Guess that's why they call it hunting.

Yeah i saw a young 8 and a few doe, but 2 yotes ran them off before dark. The yotes never presented a shot.

It was a very cold day!
