I have never hunted in this area but have gotten permission to so I am taking my 15 year old cousin on his first hunt ever as his christmas gift. tpwd says does can be taken but mld or lamps permit only? guess landowners have to acquire those kind of permits?
we will be hunting a hay field that is wrapped by a 1000 acre hunting ranch and I just want to be sure his first experience is fun and he learns the LEGAL AND ETHICAL practices of deer huntin and propper gun handling. if anyone can at least clarify that we cant harvest a doe this week, i would greatly appreciate it!

You can not shoot does unless the land owner has received lamps doe permits or the property is under the TP&W MLD program. Hope that helps you. Don't forget about the antler restrictions also.
Born to hunt and fish.

You can not kill doe this week with out MLD or LAMPS permits. During the late youth only season your 15 year old cousin can kill doe. ---> TPWD Henderson county
