Could you still buy parts or kits if you already had the stripped lower? I have a lower and want to build a heavy barrel varmint rifle. I really don't want to fight the crowd next week at the Ft. Worth show trying to find a kit.

If i rember correctly the ban was on 30 round mags, bayonet lug, threaded barrel and something else you could still buy parts. but that was a long time ago and i have CRSS.

Yes you could still buy parts to build with. You could even still buy the "banned" parts too as long as they were made before the ban. There is no guarantee the next ban will look like the old ban though.

The old ban, was just not in this frenzied a climate. The panic wasn't as bad then, even days before a real ban came into play.

Not as frenzied because there wasnt much internet stoking all this. I was selling SKS's by the buttload for 49.95 at that time grin

I dont look for many if any laws to be passed.....Democrats were swept out of office in 94.....guess it had a good side too huh? grin
