So the day before opening weekend I bought a new pair of cabelas waders, well sometime between then and now I lost the receipt. Well one of the seams is leaking right in the butt. I didn't think it would be a big deal to return them for new ones. Well after arguing with them the only thing they said they could do would be give ne 57$ towards an exchange. I paid 200 bucks for these and all they wanted to give me was freaking 57 bucks. What happened to the great return policy on waders I always read about. I know I didn't have the receipt but dang they couldn't even do an even exchange? I mean it sais cabelas in big letters across the chest. I even had the box still. Now I'm stuck with leaky waders. Any solution to fix then?

If you don't have a receipt, they should 1) exchange for same model if they have it or can order it or 2) see what current discounted rate is and give you that, was that $57???
Otherwise that's bs, I would have talked to a manager.

The $57 should be the lowest price they have sold for based on some time period I forget, same thing happened to me. They would have exchanged same model, but they did not have in stock and I could not wait to order it was the only pair I had. Ever since then I make sure I got back up waders, never good to just have one.

And just for future references, check out academy's waders. Excellent customer service and good prices. Doesn't how much you spend or what kind of waders you buy, they all tear.

They all tear sure, some much sooner than others.
I had a pair of cabelas as well and they started have tears recently without much use. I've heard from others on here that they are good about standing by their product. I didn't have a receipt so I said oh well.
Let us know how it goes.

I had a pair of theirs for 3 years used em heavily theybwere great, then the seam started to leak at the crotch then I ripped a hole in the leg and put a hole in the boots. I threw em out and bought a new pair.

You can fix the leaky seam with liquid electrical tape. I have a pair of Cabelas waders I bought midway through the '08 season and still use them. I have patched 2 holes in the boot and sealed all the seams with liquid electrical tape.

I took a pair that ripped at the seam back with out a receipt and they exchanged them. Had them for about 3 months. I did have to talk to a manager to get it done but they did it.

I'd say go get another pair, take receipt and bring the leaky pair back.

Not trying to hijack but.....What's the best way to patch a leak in a boot? I've tried Aqua seal and even tried that new crap in a can Flex Seal. Still getting a wet foot.

Credit or Debit card? Get a transaction time, go back out there with the card and force their hand, they have a copy of the transaction.

Are you guys carrying your waders in a wader bag? I see the common mistake is that people abuse their waders by just throwing them around. I have a pair of Cabelas neoprene going on 4 yrs and breathables going on 5yrs not one thing wrong with either.

I'm not an expert on this, but if you could find the exact spot where they are leaking you could force some silicone in the spot and smooth it out with your finger and that should stop it
Bartender, bring me anything except brake fluid, cause I don't plan on stopping!

That should work, except for the poor next guy who buys them when they put them back on the shelf. He will probably be going on a once in a lifetime hunt in freezing waters.

Dude that sucks. If you can wait a couple weeks. Around the 3rd-5th we can run down there. I know a girl that works in the customer service dept there.

He can ask for a full refund and let them know their defective. They'll either put in the Bargain Cave as is, or destroy them. They can't sell them new.
