Assuming you either:
A) Cannot find an entire gun or
B) Cannot afford the inflated prices for an entire gun

What would you be shopping for, list in order of highest priority . Feel free to add or re-arrange my list:

  • AR Lower (stripped or complete)
  • Magazines greater than 10 rounds for AR's and any existing guns you have
  • Lower Parts Kits (probably only initial shortages)
  • Folding/telescoping Stock & Pistol grips
  • Ammo (bad initial shortage, worst case you have to get a license to buy ammo?)
  • Upper with threaded barrel or flash suppressor/muzzle brake?
  • Extended tubes/tactical stocks for any shotguns you might have?

what happens if the tax stamp never comes through. would the item sbr or can have to be returned to the dealer by the ffl, then the buyer gets a credit? sales are usually final on firearms right? i want a can but i'm not sure the stamp would ever come back. what would happen to the can? stuck in a black hole.

Whatever happens (if anything) won't take place for some time. The sky is not falling guys! And you can still find items that were grandfathered in during a ban, even if a ban does happen.

Stripped lower
BCG
Mags
Lower Parts kit
those are the parts that are currently difficult to find and will only get more difficult untill the panic slows down. I'm glad I planned ahead and had all my extra parts.

I don't understand why people are going bat crap crazy over this stuff, its nothing we haven't seen before. They can't take our guns or outlaw them. Yes they may change some rules or things such as that but that doesn't make an AR that you paid 800 bucks for worth 15-1600 dollars! Yes some people will pay it cuz though they never knew it before now they need an AR. First of an AR is not an actually assault rifle its a semi-auto rifle. An assault rifle is a weapon where you can choose between rates of fire like semi or 3 round burst or full auto. That AR (in a lot of cases) is just a 223 semi-auto i carried an actual assault rifle for a lon time and when it comes to protecting me and mine i will rely on my handguns and shotguns. Rifles are for feeding my family imo. Im not dogging on anyone, ARs are cool just not that cool. Im gonna buy more handguns and shotguns and ammo and then watch people jump through there own a§$holes to grab up ARs and ammo and mags and when it all cools off maybe buy an AR as a cool nostalgia item to remind me of my time in Iraq. I will never pay 70 dollars for a mag a phone call would get me a dozen military mags for the cost of shipping. Sorry to rant just saw an opportunity and ran with it.

I feel comfortable in the idea that at some point in time(even though some will profit tremendously) that many will be left holding the bag after counting thier fear mongering profits. That is the dark side of speculation and is capitolism at its finest.

The gun rush is nuts. I think they are going to come for our ammo. What good is a 30 rd mag if you cant fill it? I am stocking up on primers, powder and the new prescious metal BRASS.

The whole hoarding rush is insane, I admit to recently ordering a batch of pmags because i think those will be banned and they are cheap enough to get extras.

But people going out and buying every AR to try and profit, and cleaning shelves of 223 is just crazy

The key is staying at least one step ahead of the rushes to buy

A guy can never have too many P-mags.

I wish I would have stocked up.

I see high capacity mags getting banned to pacify everyone, but not much more.

This is a good possibility but it will do no good. The market is flooded with 30 rd pmags right now. When Magpul sells 750,000 mags in a 24 hour period you know there are alot of mags already in the hands of the people.

This. I personally don't think a ban will even happen. I think banning of FTF sales will though.

I agree, would be pointless and likely won't happen. We discusssed it in another thread, there is likely over 150 million 30 round mags in circulation, banning them would be pointless.

Edit:

Keep in mind no gun control has been passed since 1994. Many who voted for it then lost there butts in re ellection.

We control the house and the senate Dem leader Harry Reid is a good gun advocate. Even he didn't say he wanted anything banned when interviewed last week.

FTF sales with no bg check is one thing I'm sure will get banned

Here is a tax stamp law/game. In order to posses over a certain amount of mary jane...5 lbs I think... you need a federal tax stamp....Not a joke. Federal indictment not to have one. Now in order to get the tax stamp you must take the item down to the tax office to get it weighed. However it is illegal to posses said item without having the tax stamp. Beware the tax stamp.

Surprised you don't see more AR's hitting the market as people sell off for profit.

I have considered selling mine.

I think they may ban high capacity mags or even require that a hinge plate be installed but I don't think they will ban the rifle as a whole.

They banned them before, they will do it again. The question is, when?

The Republicn part is pretty disorganized right now. The dems don't need a lot, just a couple
