Built this new blind for a total cost of $335. I used 2x4 for all construction. 3/8" plywood for siding and roof. 1/2" treated plywood and 2x4 treated plywood for the flooring. Caulked every seam. 30lb felt paper on top and then 30 year shingles. 4" smartboard trim on top. plastic molding on corners (caulked them inside and out too). Drip edge above all windows. Weather stiping around inside of windows. locks on inside of winds and doors. Hinge locks on outside of door. Painted using very good exterior paint (Kwal paint) on inside (one coat) and outside (three coats). Carpet on the floor. front windows are 12" high by 24" wide, side windows are 14" and 15" high (for bow hunting).

Pic is before final two coats of paint. No tower for this blind as it is setting on conveyor belt material overlooking a draw.

Next one will be built the same except using 2x6 and 3/4" treated plywood floor with 4' 4x4 posts/elevators to get it up a little.

It is heavy and it got the job done! I harvested a nice management buck the very next day. It was very warm this morning with the Mr. Heater on!

Nice, Pitt. Should last a long time.

I built a 6x8 10 years ago and have really enjoyed it. Put a fold down bed in one end and use a recliner and office chair to shoot out of. The Grandkids love it. The top and walls are bolted together and everything comes apart and lays flat on a trailer. Hope u enjoy yours.

I built my last one 4x6 and it is plenty big for 2 people and you don't have to walk across the room to shoot something on the other side.

I guess if you are only shooting out the front, it doesn't matter as much, but if you have shot opportunities in all directions you can't reach both side windows from the same place.

That one should last you a while. I like my windows to go all the way across so I can have a full field of view without moving from side to side to look out.

My next one will be 6x8. Not because I don't like this one, only because of where I want it to go. I am also going to build a 6x4. Main thing is plywood siding and zero OSB!
