It was our first time to see this deer. Looks like he has a drop tine on the right side. Age?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

Don't see a droptine but a great looking young buck. I am gonna say 2.5 or maybe 3.5 on age. Great potential in that buck. Will be a monster in a couple of years if you choose to let him walk.

let him walk. Great potential.

A hunt based on only trophies being taken falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be,time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds,animals, and fish that live there. -Fred Bear

Nice young buck. At his age, this year's severe drought must have affected the antler definement as well. It makes it little harder to judge.
On a day lease he is a shooter. On a season lease, you have to be the judge.
Sometimes letting it live another season is as satisfying as filling your cooler. Those that you have let walk, will stick in your mind helluva lot longer. At least it worked for me like that so far.

Middle-aged. 3.5 year old. Race horse look. Will be an absolute monster in two to three more years. Pray for rain. Hopefully he will produce some offspring before his time is up. Great genetics.

Ithomas132,

Just curious if this buck has shown up in 2013? Would like to see pics of him if you have them.
