I would have got his name and reported him to somone much higher than a store manager. He had no right at all to question you much less make those kind of assumptions.

I was at Academy last night buying some 42 round AR mags, and the last of their ammo. As I was checking out, one of the guys behind the counter at the customer service desk came over. This is as what he said.

"Hey, are you a security guard or cop?"

:No

"Why are you buying all that stuff"

:I'm low on ammo, and wanted to pick up a few mags before they were all gone

"Wow, are you planning to shoot up a school or something?"

:*shocked face* Um, no...

"You really shouldn't buy that stuff. People use it to murder people, and you're just making it worse"

:I think i'll be okay, but thanks anyway

At which point, the checker handed me my receipt and i left

That is as close as i can remember to his exact words. I thought about going to the manager, but decided not to waste my time. He was wearing a red vest so i assume he was a shift manager or something.

What the heck do you do when something like that happens. I have never had anyone say something like that to me before

The Academy Store I go to in San Antonio has an assist. mgr that
his Son is now in prison w/a gal he was living with who murdered
some folks..a year or so ago. I'd love to see him question anyone about a weapon. Most of us were reared by parents that drilled gun safety and responsibility into us at an early age. I
do now see a few younger guys come to the range w/AR type weapons
and small children and sometimes they do let their kids play a little..which I personally do not agree with, but I'm not their parent..Still think you start them on SS rifles and shotguns and teach them how to shoot..Don
