Weber's, in Temple, or Praco up in Waco.
I wouldn't touch any of the other shops around Hood, they've all got known problems.
Weber's won't exactly be cheap but they have 3 shops and a range, and have been in business forever.
There may be some newer shops in Harker Heights or Copperas Cove but avoid anything in Killeen like the plague.
I know two guys who retired out of Hood and are familiar with the situation. Throw me a private message and I'll see what they say if they can help you out.

Go over to Gatesville to Guns Unlimited. If you go to Waco go to Unique Guns.

For a future reference, you may want to try Quantico Tactical on Fort Hood street. Very good shop to deal with.

Ship LongGun to oneself? I thought you could do this without FFL, and even thru USPS. Did something change ?
Per BATF, on the Gun Control Act of 1968:
Q: May a nonlicensee ship firearms interstate for his or her use in hunting or other lawful activity? "Yes. A person may ship a firearm to himself or herself in care of another person in the State where he or she intends to hunt or engage in any other lawful activity. The package should be addressed to the owner. Persons other than the owner should not open the package and take possession of the firearm."
Here's the Postal reg on unloaded guns:
Mailability........432.1 General The following conditions apply:
Unloaded Rifle or Shotgun
Unloaded rifles and shotguns may be mailed if the mailer fully complies with the Gun Control Act of 1968 (Public Law 90—618) and 18 U.S.C. 921.

Guns Galore, Killeen
Wouldn't even consider walking through the door of this place again. High prices and crazy rules for using their FFL. Nocked and Loaded in Lampasas, Guns Unlimited in Gatesville.

GUns Unlimited in Gatesville, great people. Stopped in there yesterday on the way home. Their prices were really good but their inventory like everyone else is down.
