There are many types of knife sharpeners in the market but little costly. So it is better to sharpen a knife yourself as there are lot of ways for this purpose. Some of these are by dragging on stone, Lubricate the knife, polishing its edge etc.

Got the Accusharp. It was $9 at Amazon. It was not as amazing as claimed on the box where it said something like 3-4 strokes would be enough. I sharpened a skinning knife dulled from skinning a hog. It probably took 3-4 times as many strokes and by then it was shaving hairs off my arm. So between testing along the way, it took me maybe a minute to get a very functional edge re-established.
Given my lack of skills, that it is lightweight, portable, doesn't involve a bunch of moving parts or accessories, that Accusharp would appear to be a good value for the money.

Worksharp. Finally someone has made a really easy to use sharpener. Sold my Lansky, of which I've had 3 over the last 15 years. Should be the last sharpener I ever buy.

Worksharp - agreed. We use this here at the meat market. It doesn't get the knives quite as sharp as having them professionally sharpened, but it doesn't cost $6/knife either.

I recently used one of thode pistol grip versions for about $10 and cut my tendon on my hsnd. I was using it incorrectly however, it is in the trash. Whatever you buy or use make sure your hands are away from the sharpening area. I switched to a pull through knife sharpener instead of a hand held one. $2,500 later after surgery, medical bills, etc. wish I would have not gone cheap!

Expense does not replace correct usage.
