Sounds right to me. Average buck is 115~ 120 lbs. I shot a nice mature buck came in at 140 lbs.
But to answer your question the majority of the does are small.

Most the does we have shot out there are 90-100. Further west you go the bigger
Llano is just like any where else lower the number weights go up

That's normal for much of Llano Co. Last year in the drought it was worse. This year most of our does are in the low 80's.

The Llano uplift area is different than anywhere else in Texas, a combination of soils and genetics, results in smaller deer. Good herd management and supplemental feeding, improves the average, but it will never be South Texas.

We hunted out there for years. Very small deer. Overcrowding and genetics. Leave your 30-06 at home. Head shots tend to take the head clean off.

yep. small deer in the hill country Jeez, those are monsters. I hunt in Mills county; an 80 lb. dressed doe would win you some awards. Our average doe probably dresses 68-70, although I killed one that dressed 92 a few years ago.

The Llano uplift area is different than anywhere else in Texas, a combination of soils and genetics, results in smaller deer. Good herd management and supplemental feeding, improves the average, but it will never be South Texas. No supplemental feed and have no issue breaking 100lbs on the hoof in upper age classes. With mature bucks in mid 150's on the hoof. Bc scoes on mature bucks 120-mid 160's

BOBO are you in Llano county or Eastern Mason? Do you have granite based soils or red sand? I'm speaking in generalities there are some better pockets. It's also possible that the genetics have been enhanced, but in the end, it's still not South Texas.

Right on the line llano/mason line..along the river... granite soil(creek crossing can be fun)..lots of granite out croppings. Zero cedar though.
Management on that ranch is pretty simple..hammer does...hard horned buck 5 5-6.5... stags shot on sight.
No not south tx and will never be with native forage... but still can find and manage for respectable deer
