The yotes have been getting smart and figuring out my trapping sets. Mixed it up a little and used a "secret" bait. Got him!

The most effective is using urine from a coyote from another place. The next best is rabbits/squirrels/rodents tied to a tree (make sure it is not visible from the sky so large birds don't find it). When you exhaust those, try some bait that is off the wall.....anything. Best advice is to keep moving the traps and spray them and area with scent killer after setting. Also, make sure you know how to properly set a trap in the ground and covered with sifted dirt (need to put plastic over the pan to keep dirt from under the pan, so it can be set off). Yotes are very easy to catch when it is cold for several days in a row (they will be hungry). They can be difficult when it is warm and food is plentiful for them.

Nice job on the trap everybody says you need to move your traps or soak them or spray like you say but i have found i set a trap line out and never have to move or soak my trap i just give them different looks and smells, baits, sometime use the left over duck feathers seem to work well for me (You skin them Out?)

Guys be careful with what you use for bait, and distractors. I knew a guy who was using turkey feathers over sets and Game warden gave him a ticket for using a game animal as bait. Most GW's I've dealt with didn't care but just beware if your GW is a Barney Fife

You need to make a ground hole like a rodent is living in the whole about 6 inches in front of the rodent hole put your trap just under ground level make sure it is secure and not wobbly but the bait in the rodent hole like a rodent is in the hole yotie will come to put his noes in the rodent hole and your foot trap 6 inches in front of the rodent whole will trap him
