I went out to hunt in a spot yestersday that I has scouted the week prior. We had pulled up in the boat and had all 5 dosen decoys set out, went to the bank only to find a gold rush on the gold being over a hundred pounds of corn. We obviously had to pick up and leave. But it was the first time that I had seen something like that. I thought that duck hunting in Texas was good enough that there was no need to bait. So the only other reason could be that the bait was used as a deterrent for hunting.

The out of state people in Montana have been doing that to keep people from gunning in their back yards, pretty clever if you ask me.

I had the same thing happen on a new spot last year. When I questioned the land owner he said his hired hand had been duck hunting the place the previous few days. The hired hand was fired due to his unethical hunting practices.
