Not on a house, but I've used a water level on many occasions. It works.

Take a thin wall hose, any flexible hose, and even a water hose will work, but the ends need to be bear for better measurements. Fill the hose with water and get all the trapped air out. Hold both ends up so no water escapes. Take a gallon of water with you. We'll get to that in a moment. Find a starting point even if it's a sturdy stake in the ground, preferably at one corner of the pad. Tie the water hose onto the stake or post or pillar, what have you. After stabilizing the hose so that it won't slip or move. Now take the other end of the hose to your first reference point and attach it. If you have a clear hose its easier, but if not, just take your water jug and pour enough water into the hose until you can see the water in the hose. If it runs over raise that end until the water is the same distance from the hose outlet at each end.

I went to Lowes and bought a 1/2" ID clear hose, 100 feet long. At each end I used a sharpie and put a mark 3" below the ends. This was my leveling markers. It takes awhile to get air pockets out of a 100 ft hose, but it has to be done.

Good'un HnF. I don't think he meant that kind of "leveling".

I have used water levels in my line of work for years well till I bought a laser. But in this situation I would not use one. I find it best to use the trusty 4 ft level and then let your doors tell you the rest. Your margin ( oor gap ) around the door should be consistent all the way around, and it should be able to rest in any position without trying to open itself further or closing itself. This is the way I keep my house level. On a trailer the 4 ft level can be placed on your runner beams for front to back, moving along as you go. And for side to side affix a straight edge for the spread. When you are close to being right then go look at your doors at this point. Most doors are hung true or should have been true when the home was established.
NRA member and proud of it.

Add red food coloring to your water, you can thank me later. Much easier and quicker to see.

I used a gallon of windshield washer fluid. The blue shows up nice in the hose then when I was done I put it in my vehicle.
