Well been lurking around reading posts . So i am in market looking for nice Bow setup/rig to learn hunting . I do lot of fishing and always wanted to learn hunting finally a buddy offered to take me with him at his hunting location and teach me few things .

I am looking forward to read/share some stories and get to know ya'll bow hunters . I will be limited to bow only hunting since my other half won't let me get gun .

If anyone has any rigs for sale PM me details .

Go to a bow shop and shoot as many different bows in you price range to see which on feels best for you. You need to get measured for draw length before anything else. Try mesquite archery off of 410 and bandera, they should help.

hey, i am new to the forum as well. definitely get a draw length measurement. i think it is normally your height divided by 2.5 or something like that. dont buy a bow without putting your hands on it first. how much do you want to spend?

Welcome to all you new guys. cheers

Just an FYI- this is not the forum to buy/sell/trade. Take a look at the Trading Post rules and go from there.

No No No. Kind of like Santa though. That is not the correct way to measure. Only reliable way is to go and get measured at pro shop. If I were to follow that rule I would be shooting the wrong DL.

Bore sighting is a different ball game. You get on paper and then fine tune it.

You don't want to be close when it comes to DL. Nothing sucks more than having a DL that is a tad bit to long and that string slaps the you know what out of you. And what is even worse is when it is to short. I had a guy come over one day and brought his bow with him and it was about 4" to short.
