Winchester 70 Ultimate Shadow, Weatherby Vanguard, or Tikka T3? They're all within the same price range. Personally I'm partial to Tikka. Never shot off the other two. Or Remington 700 sps?

All great rifles... I shoot a 700 in 308, one friend of mine shoots a tikka in 308 and another friend just got a vanguard in 270 and they all shoot great. Hardly hear anything bad about winchesters as well

I'm a Remington guy, but I'd say Tikka as well.

I looked at the Vanguard last night at Cabelas. On sale for 449 through December 17. I was impressed with the solid feel of the stock. For that price I'm going to buy one.

If pulling the trigger was all there was to hunting rifles, I'd choose the most accurate---and you're in for an inconclusive discussion right there. Fact is, there is more to it. The Model 70 Classics have all the right stuff and that is what I'd choose.
