Just wanting any useful info guys and gals. Gotta hunt planned in a couple weeks and have no idea about the area. Used to javelina hunt the Callaghan but idk if its gonna be anything like that at all. 40k + acres and free so any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in this area. And the only free range exotic is nilgai. Cameron has some decent bucks over towards laguna vista on the north side of hwy 100. One thing that sucks with Cameron county is that most of the hunting land except for the refuges is owned by the yuturria family or was converted to agriculture. There is also some decent bucks over by boca chica beach but it's all private. Willacy has some decent places but the 77 corridor is owned primarily by the yuturria family and king ranch and Kennedy ranch. If you have access to an air boat you can nail some seriously big bucks off these ranches on the flat in public water. Give me a call if you want anymore info.

As long as it is public water or land it's fair game. So you really need to go with someone who knows the areas. And also you gotta check the tides for the day.
