I don't care about who is a better hunter, or if HF or LF hunters are "better" hunters....I have hunted both, although I hunt LF 99% of time and havn't been on a HF place in many years....the only problem I have with the argument of HF vs LF is this....the game is the property of the state, therefore as a tax-payer I feel that no one has the "right" to fence in the state's wildlife and make it their own...now, if someone ran every native animal from their place, then put up a HF, then put in their "store bought" animals...I would have no issue with that.

When the state starts paying me for grazing and browse habitat rights I will go along with that, but till I get thta check in the mail, I think if I house and feed their deer on my property then I am free to keep them on my property.

Red, you then, are "keeping" me and every other resident of this state from "access" to "our" game, and you are not allowing a free roaming native species the ability to be free roaming...if you don't want any game on your ranch, then quit feeding them...

using your logic, you owe me for every native deer you decided to "trap" on your ranch and "feed"

Ok then Ill roundup everything on the place so its just dirt and they wont browse my brush or forbs.

Your free to hunt them.. .on th property that you own lease or have permision to hunt that houses them.

Heck if they are all equaly our deer I want to start hunting the bar diches outside of the big LF ranches down south... that should be legal right? I should be able to shoot them anywhere they are public property.

i don't care how the law reads, the wildlife is the property of the landowner who's land its standing on. thats why its a felony to shoot a deer on someones place that you don't have permission to be on.

you have no more right to a deer on our or redchevy's place as we to do the game on whatever place you have.

if someone wants to argue that "well its the taxpayers wildlife" I will be happy to send you a feed bill.

By the way our place is mostly low fence, the rest is No fence. And to boot the only thing I have killed on a Hi fence is a raccon, but that is because I havent had the oportunity to hunt a Hi fence but would given the chance. I have been on sever but not able to hunt.

scratch Still not your deer. You have a right to it, so long that it is on your property. Not illegal to shoot "your deer", just illegal to shoot "your deer" on your property.

HF, LF, no fence doesn't matter when it comes to "ownership" of the deer. You ain't gonna shoot a deer on my property unless you pay me first or I give you permission. Either way, you have to go through me to have access to "your" publicly owned deer.

Your hunting license grants you the authority to shoot public deer. It doesn't grant you access to land that the deer reside upon. The size of the fence is irrelevant.

Saying it again, stop worrying what everyone else is doing. Hunt what you got or how you want, but for the love Christ, will everybody shut up about the HF/LF garbage already.

Honestly, it's really detrimental to the whole sport. And it's becoming increasingly disrespectful to some of the deer that are being posted on this forum. If somebody else is pleased with their trophy then just be happy for them and move along. It doesn't affect what or how you hunt your place.

LOL, is this conversation still happening? The whole HF/LF debate is like Democrats versus Republicans. Of course, LF guys are Republicans and HF guys are Democrats.

How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

Sorry, just feel that the native "free roaming" animals should be given that opportunity and I believe that a HF prevents that. If you own the land, then yes, you can say who can and can't hunt those native species....but, those animals should have the opportunity to jump your fence and live elsewhere.

Now that you brought up the detrimental to the sport argument..I believe that anti-hunters and those wishing to stop hunting altogether get alot more support when they bring up the "killing deer in a pen" argument. Again, I don't fell that is true in most cases and the deer are not tame, or trapped to the point that hunting them is easier. I am just saying, it is easy to spin an anit-hunting argument where HF's are concerned.
