Not trying to be arrogant, but if I were looking to buy a hunting dog I would be looking for a reputable trainer or breeder. Not on craigslist, just saying.

The ad is saying its hunting dog

It says the dog has hunting bloodlines and is obedience trained.
It does not say the dog has had any hunt training or bird exposure. Bloodlines are easy to look up. He could be great pet but a hit or miss on hunting.

Sometimes you get both.

Yea kinda a low blow...i called.... already have a hunting dog...older but that dog may become the best hunting dog ill ever have...you never know but it wont hurt to test the waters...no problem giving a good bloodline dog like that a good home regardless if it can hunt or not....im sure the dog will hunt just regardless of how hard is the question....

Good Luck to you on this, Vizslas are fantastic dogs. This boy needs a good home and someone that is willing to work with him and give him the attention and space he needs. He'll reward you right back, regardless if he turns out to be a great hunter. Props to you for taking a chance on this pup.

My nephew picked up a fine Chessie that was both on here and on cl, he's working with Drake and it appears he has some serious potential along with the pedigree. It is hit and miss, but until you understand all the circumstances you can't really judge.
As for Angie, everyone has heard the old saying "opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one". Just sayin-keep it positive...

Best yellow lab I ever had came from CL. Dog would work all day and point pheasants. Made me feel good just to give the dog a chance to prove herself. Great dog

I got the Pointer I have now from an attorney here on the Forum whose bitch had a litter and she was like the last dog left. I even think she was the runt, she's small. She was six months old when I got her and had spent her whole life to that point on a couch.
One of the best dogs I've ever seen, she's a machine. You oughta she her work.
