The easiest thing to learn how to use is the 6 in 1 whistle. It will help you with teal, widgeon, pintails, etc. For a good beginner call, try the buck gardner double nasty. Many times you can find it packaged with the training cd. It's easy to follow and the call blows easy. Put the cd in the truck with you and practice with the call every time you go somewhere.

Learning to call is a lot like playing golf. Everyone wants to crush a ball with the driver but it can end up very bad until you learn how to use it properly and consistantly, same with a duck call. The whistle is like your short irons, get close and stick every time and save yourself a lot of unnecessary strokes.

The other best advise I can tell anyone is try to find some ducks and listen to them then try to replicate their sounds. I always go to the park by my house and listen to the ducks then call out to them and watch their responses. There is no better teacher that sounds like a duck than a real duck. My 2 cents.

I think someone needs to start a duckuniversity.

Best thing would be on a guided hunt and learn from the guide.

A 7$ whistle and a 12$ faulk is all you really need.

Too late in the season for comeback calls.
