Ok so you all know I am deployed at this time but upon my return I will be moving back to El Paso, Texas to be stationed at Fort Bliss. I am wanting to buy a Lab for hunting purposes and also a good family dog. I am just wondering if anyone can make suggestions on possible breeders in the area. Obviously it is going to be a little while before I get there but I would like to be able to do my research before getting the pup. I also do not mind driving if thats what it takes to find a good breeder. I truely understand the importance of finding a good breeding line and also finding a litter that has the traits im looking for. If anyone could make some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I have have pure bred labs for sale throughout the year. They aren't field trial dogs but they can hunt. My 8mo old Bo is already retrieving pretty damn good and Will water retrieve as well. You can have one for free. Thank you for your service. Text me if you Your interested. If your looking for tier 1 labs. My dad would get them from hill country hunting labs. I'm very proud of Bo and he's a great dog but the labs they put out make Bo on his best day look like b squad and he ain't to shabby.

Fort Bliss, oh how I don't miss that place one bit. Sorry, my dad was stationed there for their Sgt Major's Academy, and man that was the longest six months of my life.
As for retrievers, I would be selective, you have a lot of time to do some shopping and research. Don't limit your search with just Texas, look all around. Having a pup shipped to you is about $200.00 to $250.00, but if it is what you are looking for, then that added expense in the long run is minor.
What exactly are you looking for? Health Clearances should be a big consideration when looking for a companion that you want to be around for a long while.
There will be several really nice litters available when you get back. I have a couple planned as do some others, if I don't have it, I can probably locate it.
And as stated by others, Thank you for your Service to our Country

Crusher- Only one piece of advise. Don't rush the process!!!!! Don't let yourself get caught up on the emotional side of the decision making process by setting arbitrary geographical restraints or deadlines. Why limit yourself? There are literally thousands of litters across the country at any given time. Do your homework and find the right fit for you. Is it more work? Sure.... but the dividends are far greater.
