Buck down, post Picts later! Shot at 2 pm. Here's a quick rundown. I have literally set on stand probably 30 times (if not more) only to be skunked repeatedly. I can count how many times on one hand that since October I have seen deer under my feeder and that # is 0.. I have three different places I hunt and all are the same song and dance, pictures at night and minimal movement during the day. I have seen deer just not in my feeder pens. Anyhow, fast forward to this week. I started getting pictures of this buck at one of my setups coming in around noon. I pulled a differnt camera chip from another stand 2 miles away and see that he's visiting that stand as well in the same day! I get in the blind about 11am today and set till about 2pm. At this time I have seen no movement what so ever. As a last ditch effort I decide to use a grunt and do so fairly loudly several times. About five minutes pass and I see this guy checking things out from behind very thick cover. He stood there for a minute or so and turns and walks away. I let out one more loud grunt but he continues to walk away. I then get out of my blind thinking that im going to make a stalk but talked myself out of it, fearing that I would spook him. So I climb back in my blind and grunt a few more times, once again he re-apears in the thick brush. He finally takes one to many steps and gave me a small hole to shoot through. He was quartering hard towards me when I shot. I heard the thud but he didnt act hurt and ran out of sight. I gave him about 20 minutes and started my search. I found hair and bone frags where I shot and eventually found him about 100yds down a trail. Shot him with a Remi.788, 308, 150gr bullet.

yeah buddy. Can't wait to see the pic. Congrats. Nothing like a good cold front to get things moving. My horses acted like idiots this morning and I know the deer did as well.

Really had it in my head that I was going to sneak out and hunt today, but then Monday started. Also thought I might get out tomorrow, but ain't happening.
2012 may be the first year ever where I won't get to hunt on a cold day. Bring back 2010!
Congrats on the buck, he's very good looking.
