I recently picked up a LE6920 and have been going back and forth on how I want to set it up, kind of suffering from paralysis of analysis.....grin. I have decided that for now I am gonna use it for a multipurpose plinking and kill some deer, pigs, turkeys, fox, whatever. I was originally thinking about a low power variable 1-5 ish and then I started thinking about wanting to place bullets more precisely at say 200 yards and so I started thinking about a 3-9 ish scope. Then I started thinking about the different reticles, turrets, etc and I ended up realizing that I dont really want to shoot deer or hogs much past 300 yards with the shorter barrel on a AR and lack of velocity. Now I am kind of thinking about slapping a Zeis Conquest 3-9 with a regular plex type reticle on there and calling it good. What do you guys that use your AR's for similar use to what I described above run for glass and do you really use the longer range reticles or turrets to shoot past 300 with the 16" AR's. Im looking for true practicality not cool factor, and yes I have looked at the EOTECH's and Aimpoints, etc , just dont think Im gonna be doing any close quarters combat anytime soon.....grin

I use a nikon prostaff 2-7x32 scope. Plain ole duplex ret. Sighted for dead on at 50 which coincidentally get me to 200 just fine. About 2" high at 100 with a 10.5" barrel. I think you'll be good with what you got. Not sure I'd try to shoot deer past maybe 150 yds. But within 100 yds I would definitely feel confident.

I run both a Nikon M223 2x8 BDC and an Eotech combination.

1 of mine has an Optisan 1-4 illuminated reticle and I switch it out with my Night vision scope. My other one has a Vortex viper 2-7x32......the viper is a much better scope than the Nikon buckmaster, at least that's my opinion.

I put a Leupold VX-R on my Bushmaster. It's a 1.25-4x but it works great for me.

Dude that is a sweet setup, how do you like that M-223 (2.5-8 right?), thats one of the scopes I have been considering.

You may really like the Millet DMS. It's a pretty decent compromise between scope/red dot/illuminated reticle.

I use a 1-4 trijicon. Green triangle on a stick. When my girlfriend uses one of my others, I stick a Weaver 6X fixed on it.

If I was to buy a scope today. It would be Nikon. Ive had two. 4-12,3-9. Prostaff BDC. Excellent scopes. Better then my japan made weaver....not by a little. By alot.

i use a Leupold vx 1 on my Sig 556 just a 3-9 ....if you put that 3-9 Zeiss Conquest on your gun i think you'll have all you need for practical purposes with good low light abilities...

Love the scope, dead on accurate. Great for hunting and long range shots. Quick sight acquisition. Nikon web site has software that can dial you in on other weight than 55 grain very easily. Have a similar scope on my Mil-spec 5R 308. Physical size of scope is not overwhelming for the AR platform. BDC reticle allows me too go 100, 200, 300 yards immediately without thought. Easy to tag in between yardage as well.
